About LDM

Roy Hamel was a pastor and cross-cultural worker with The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada for some 22 years. He was ordained with that denomination in 1977 and has pastored churches in British Columbia, Regina, Sk., Buenos Aires, Argentina and Guelph, Ontario. He holds credentials in the Central Canadian District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He holds a Master of Theological Studies, acquired from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1980.

Roy writes a bi-monthly column entitled, The Watchman, in The Interim, Canada’s largest pro-life, pro-family newspaper.

Roy is an aspiring writer and his letters have been published in: The Guelph Mercury, Ottawa Citizen, National Post, The Kitchener Record, The Christian Current, Mississauga News, The Cambridge Reporter, the Calgary Herald, and the Globe and Mail.

He has also written articles on moral and political issues affecting all Canadians. Those articles have been published in The Royal City Journal, The Interim Magazine, The Christian Current, The Christian Herald, and the Calgary Herald.

Why Light the Darkness Ministries?

Roy has a passion that the church would fulfill its calling to be both salt and light in our society and that Jesus would be lifted up and honoured. To that end he has founded Light the Darkness Ministries as a vehicle for God to use.
